The Chicago 2012 South Side Saint Patrick's Day Parade: The Tradition Marches On Sunday, March 11, 2012 11:00 a.m. Western Ave – 103rd Street to 115th Street The South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is proud to announce that the South Side Irish Parade will return on Sunday, March 11th. In the past few months, we have worked extensively with our private security firm S3, the City of Chicago, and the Chicago Police Department creating a plan we feel will bring this great neighborhood tradition back as the family friendly event it was meant to be. Our security plan (outlined below) was created to target the problems that plagued the Parade the past few years including public intoxication, underage drinking, lack of respect for the surrounding neighborhood, and unruly spectators from outside the neighborhood.
