A Toast to St. Patrick
Saint Patrick, the holy and tutelar man;
His beard down his bosom like Aaron's ran.
Some from Scotland, some from Wales,
will declare that's from where he came,
But I care not, now he's risen to fame.
The pride of the world and his enemies scorning,
I will drink to St Patrick, today, in the morning!

But the greatest love -- the love above all loves,
Even greater than that of a mother...
Is the tender, passionate, undying love,
Of one beer drunken slob for another.

Health and a long life to you.
Land without rent to you.
A child every year to you.
And if you can't go to heaven,
May you at least die in Ireland.

May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past.

May the leprechauns be near you,
To spread luck along your way.
And may all the Irish angels,
Smile upon you St Patrick's Day.

Beannachtam na Femle Padraig ("Happy St. Patrick's Day!")

May I see you grey And combing your grandchildren's hair.

May there be a generation of children On the children of your children.

To all the days here and after May they be filled with fond memories, happiness, and laughter.
